De JMK$ à Khali, en passant par Tedax Max, on s’est plongé tête la première dans la scène rap fr pour tenter de distinguer ce qu’on pourrait appeler la nouvelle vague. Après avoir référencé les artistes qu’on apprécie (même si on aurait aimé en mettre plus), on s’est permis un petit focus sur la DMV et la plug music, qui gagnent de plus en plus d'exposition. Enfin, on vous lâchera quelques sources intéressantes pour voir ce qui se passe dans la nouvelle vague du rap fr. Si le rap est le style de musique N°1 (presque) partout dans le monde, c’est grâce à sa très grande variété stylistique : il y en a pour tout le monde. Une telle émulation autour d’un genre ne peut qu’être bénéfique pour le genre en lui-même, mais ça engendre aussi un aspect négatif, celui de la copie, ou de la recette musicale usée à l’infini. Quand une certaine sonorité obtient un succès, elle est déclinée encore et encore jusqu’au dégoût. C’est normal, comme le dit l’adage, c’est la rançon de la gloire. Autre aspect de cette grande exposition, c’est qu’il y a du monde sur le coup, beaucoup de monde. Faire du rap aujourd’hui, c’est hyper attractif, alors forcément, beaucoup s’y essayent. Et plus il y a de monde à essayer, moins c’est facile de tirer son épingle du jeu. Et il en fallu pas plus pour rejoindre les rangs serrés de la toute nouvelle fan base que le rappeur se développe. Il apporte un grand soin à son écriture, et c’est ce qui nous a le plus plu chez lui. Loin des facilités d’une musique populaire où les textes se doivent d’être simples et accessibles, il cisèle tel un orfèvre, prenez par exemple : “La vie n’est qu’un court-métrage, on prend d’l’âge, du kilométrage. On pense qu’argent, véhicule allemand, tout l'monde se prend pour ce qu'il n’est pas”. Et ce n’est pas tout, car en 2020, il sort aussi “MAXAVELI” ou encore “La Drillotière”. Des balles qu’on poncera indéfiniment, jusqu’à ce jour béni du 1er Janvier 2021, où apparut sur les plateformes de streaming, le projet “Forme Olympique”. S'ensuivit “Forme Olympique : middle season” un autre milestone important pour le rappeur, avant de créer la surprise et de débarquer dans les studios de Colors pour un freestyle furieusement efficace. Bref, le rappeur se forge déjà une belle réputation en réalisant un sans faute très prometteur pour la suite. Il arrive avec un chant nasillard, qui bouscule l’auditeur, l’interpelle à coup sûr. L’artiste avait tweeté il y a quelque temps : “Game changer ou j'arrête" avant de sortir son projet “LAÏLA”. Si ce tweet était une sorte d’ultimatum posé à lui-même pour passer un cap, on doit dire que c’est réussi. Car “LAÏLA” justement, devrait faire office de marqueur en 2021. Ce qu’il apporte en termes de sonorités et d’univers, est incomparable. Chez Khali, on retient surtout la superbe mélancolie qui se dégage de ses mélodies, une mélancolie qui fait du bien, cathartique, essentielle à notre époque. Depuis ce jour où le désormais fameux “J’m’en fou de la fashion week, l’outfit est fantastique” résonne pour la première fois sur nos enceintes, rien n’est plus pareil. Chanceko c’est le roi de la mélo qui prend aux tripes, celle qui reste dans le crâne, qui te hante. En tout cas, encore un artiste prolifique, qui ne nous laisse jamais longtemps sans nouvelle. Que ça soit avec des freestyles filmés à la volée ou des bangers comme Gova, le rappeur est bien présent en 2021.
